Engr. (Prof.) Benjamin Imasogie, a former Dean, Faculty of Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was born on 17/08/1960. He obtained B.Sc. (Hons.)  in Engineering Physics, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 1982, 1988 and 1994, respectively, from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. 

 Prof. Imasogie joined the Faculty of Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University, as Lecturer I in 1997, rising to become a Professor in 2007. He has over 65 research publications in reputable international journals along with refereed conference proceedings and has delivered many keynote addresses. He has expertise in Institutional Strengthening, Resource Mobilization, Networking, Research Management and Uptake.  He has won several fellowships and built strong linkages with several international research institutions. He has mentored and successfully supervised 7 Ph.D. and 6 M.Sc. graduates. 

As Dean of Engineering at OAU Ife, he piloted the affairs of the Faculty with a high aptitude for resourcefulness, balance and equanimity. He is a guest editor to Advances in Materials Science and Engineering Journal, Australia.  

 He was a contributor to the National Materials Policy and member sub-committee on the review of the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy. Prof. Imasogie, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, is also member of both the African Engineering Deans Council and the Global Engineering Deans Council. He has served in different capacities in some of these professional bodies including participating in several COREN and NUC Accreditation Visitation Teams to Engineering Programmes in Nigerian Universities. 

 Prof. Imasogie is the current Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Elizade University, Ilara Mokin, Nigeria.
