Chief Gilbert Temisan Grant, born on
July 31, 1946, graduated with a B.Sc. (Honours) degree in. Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Lagos in 1970 and subsequently with a post
graduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology from the University of Ibadan in
1972.
Chief G.T. Grant started his career as a Petroleum Engineer
/Petroleum Reservoir Engineer with the Gulf Oil Company Nigeria Limited in
1970-1974. Subsequently, starting as a foundation staff member of the NNPC/NNOC
in 1974, he served diligently with responsibilities in oil and gas upstream and
downstream as well as the LNG. From 1984-1988, he was the Managing Director/CEO
of UNIPETROL Nigeria Limited where he transformed the company from near
bankruptcy to profitability. The impact of his positive input to the natural
gas projects culminated in his appointment as the Managing Director/CEO of the
Nigerian LNG.
Chief Grant retired as the Group Executive Director (GED) of the
NNPC in August 1995 having served meritoriously at NPDC, NEC, 1DSL and NLNG.
Currently, he chairs STOCAM Nigeria Limited — a
Consultancy/Advisory Services Outfit in upstream and gas sector of the economy;
and has served on the Boards of Lonestar Drilling Company Nigeria Limited, Negs
Nigeria Limited, OK LNG Nigeria Limited, Fode Engineering Nigeria Limited as
well as Royal Exchange and General Insurance Company of Nigeria.
He is a fellow and Past President of the Society for Petroleum
Engineers of the American Institute (SPE- AIME) as well as the Institute of
Directors (IOD).
