Engr. Prof. Christian Amaechi Bolu, a Nigerian, born 8th June 1950, in Oba, Idemili South LGA of Anambra State, graduated with B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1976, M.Eng in Industrial Engineering from University of Toronto, Canada in 1979 and Ph.D in Industrial and Systems Engineering from University of Wales, Swansea, United Kingdom in 1982.He became a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in 1982, a Registered Engineer with COREN in 1983(R2060). In 2005, he was admitted Fellow of the Nigeria Society Engineers. Engr Bolu, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Industrial Engineers and Member, Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria, is a certified consultant of SAP and Autodesk technologies in Enterprise Resource Planning and Computer Aided Engineering Design.
He was the first
Nigerian Managing Director, Aluminium Extrusion Industries Plc, Owerri, Imo
State, where he moved the Company from the 2nd-Tier securities market to the
1st-Tier; first African General Manager of Tower Extrusions, Lagos, where he
set up the first CNC wire-cutting machine and the first powder-coating plant in
Nigeria. As the first African Managing Director, International Data Management
Services Ltd, Ikeja, he developed an Enterprise Resource Planning software used
in engineering manufacturing plants in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
Engr Bolu served as Technical Manager/Consultant in Kaluworks Ltd, Mombasa, Kenya, and Ghana Aluminium Products Ltd, Tema, Ghana. He has served or serving as non-Executive Director in Asaba Aluminium Company Limited, Borno Aluminium Company Ltd, Maiduguri, Queensway Aluminium Company Limited, Kaduna, International Data Management Services Ltd, Lagos and Agric Industries Ltd, Zaria.
In 1987, was elected
Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Lagos branch, appointed the pioneer
chairman of the NSE industrialisation committee and in 1989 elected the
National Technical Secretary, Nigeria Society of Engineers. In 2013, he chaired
the COREN Mechatronics Engineering
Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) Committee and has served as
resource person for engineering degree programmes accreditation.
He was the Editor-in-Chief, Nigeria Engineer, from 1989-1990 and has served as university examiner, assessor for PhD and Master of Engineering degrees. He is a regular keynote, lead paper or public lecturer in several engineering and business conferences/seminars.
Engr Bolu, a devout Christian and married to Vivian Chiamaka, is blessed with four God-fearing children, three boys, one girl and two grandchildren. To God be all the glory!
