Born on 8th August, 1959 in Kwara State. Engr. Jani Abdulganiyu Ibrahim attended Kings College, Lagos from 1972-1976 where he obtained the West African School Examination in Grade One in 1976. He obtained his Higher School Certificate in 1976 -1978. He was awarded the British Petroleum (BP) Scholarship in January, 1979 at the Greenwich University, London to study Mechanical Engineering where he graduated with first Class Honour in 1982. National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos and Harvard Business School, Boston Massachusetts in 2009-2011 respectively. Engr. Ibrahim won the United Kingdom Institution of Mechanical Engineers prize for best project.

After graduating, Engr. Ibrahim worked with BP Oil Refinery Limited Llandarcy South Wales, U.K and Rutson Diesels Limited, Newton-Le-Willows, Merseyside, U.K. in 1979-1980. He also worked with the BP Chemicals Limited, Belgrave House, Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1, United Kingdom.


Engr. Ibrahim started his career with AP Nigeria Plc, Lagos as a Technical Sales & Services Engineer in 1983-1984; Senior Sales Engineer,Unipetrol Nigeria Plc, Lagos (1984-1988) and got promoted to Lubricants Sales Manager in 1990-1994. In 1992, Engr. Jani handled the design, fabrication and construction of the ultra-modern lubricating oil blending plant for LUBCON Limited in Ilorin, Kwara State with a annual capacity of 40 million litres. The plant is a fully integrated manufacturing plant. He has progressed with a similar plant commissioned at Tema, Ghana in 2007. Currently a third plant is under construction in Addis-Ababa in Ethiopia. Engr. Jani is currently promoting the development of a Fertilizer complex in Band, Kogi State that will generate employment for thousands as well as contribute to Agricultural development.  The proposed plant is for 2000 MT per day, ammonia project for a 3,500 MT per day Urea plant.


Engr. Ibrahim is the past President of Kwara State Chamber of Commerce, Mine and Agriculture (KWACCIMA,) and the immediate past Chairman, Conference of Northern States Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is presently Vice President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA). He has received numerous honours and award which include Certificate of Distinction awarded by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru, Jos, 1994. Best Employee award for the year 1988 by Unipetrol Boards of Directors and President, Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru (2009 to date).

He is a, Member, Energy Institute of United Kingdom (MEI), Associate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers of the United Kingdom, Fellow, the Nigerian Society of Engineers. Engr. Ibrahim was awarded the distinguished National Honour Officer of the Order of Nigeria (OON).
