The Nigerian Academy of Engineering Held it's 2019 Annual Lecture, Life Achivement Awards and Induction of New Fellows


The Nigerian Academy of Engineering Inducts new Fellows.



President of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering Engr. Prof. Fola LASISI, in a welcome address apprised the public on the Academy’s responsibilities, how it Is attaining its goals and what the Academy requires from Fellows.


The Guest Speaker for the Annual Lecture Engr. A. O. R.  Oladele spoke on “Fueling the Nigerian Economy: State of Domestic Refining and Distribution Facilities”.


He highlighted the framework for a creative and optimal fueling concept which is hinged on policy, execution and funding. He gave an overview of the Nigerian petroleum refining and distribution system, the current state of the system and its implications on domestic petroleum products supply. Also, the state of the private sector refineries was given. He concluded that existing policy needs to be strengthened to reduce the burden on government and to be competitive to similar markets.


Three Distinguish Fellows: Engr. Prof. S. O. Adeyemi, Engr. Prof. S. A. Balogun and Engr. Prof. Garegy Bajoga) received Life Achievement Awards

Engr.  Dr. M. K. Baru who spoke on behalf of the new Fellows thanked the Academy and urged the inductees to encourage the incubation of a new generation of engineers as part of our legacies for a calling that has offered so many opportunities to many.


The Special Guest of Honor Sen. Olabiyi Durojaiye congratulated the new Fellows on their election into the Academy. He urged engineers to continue the pursuit of excellence for the advancement of Nigeria.
